Failed install on "Security Update for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 (KB2596764)"

The above patch fails to install with "Error Code: 0x80070643 " I dont have Office 2007, I have office 2010. I did a "Find solutions" option for this and got one option Office 2003 Update fails to install with error 0x80070643 Followed the directions and my OSE service is not disabled. In manual mode.

Hi Sabrina, This didn't help in my case. UAC is disabled on this computer. Office 2010 was installed on top of 2007. I tried to manually download and install KB2596764. But it still failed (no error code, just a message "install failed" in a dialog box). How can I prevent windows from trying to install this every time we shut down ? Eric
